Coco began her volleyball coaching career in Virginia where she coached first at the high school level and then at the collegiate level.  She was a head collegiate coach for seven years, receiving Conference Coach of the Year honors her third year.  Under her tutelage, several players received All-Conference and All-Tournament honors.  A member of the All-Region Selection Committee for the NCAA III South Region for three years, she also coached the East Team at the Virginia State Games for two years.  In the late 80's, early 90's, she founded two youth volleyball clubs in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area and was part of the grass roots movement to bring varsity volleyball into the public school system in Virginia Beach.  While in Virginia, she directed numerous camps and clinics for youth and adults and was recognized by the Women's Sports Foundation for Outstanding Achievements in Women's Sports in 1993.  She has directed numerous indoor, grass and beach volleyball events over the years, and is a former Director of the Tidewater Volleyball Association.

Since moving to Florida, she has been a volunteer assistant coach for the 2003 women's varsity volleyball team at Florida Institute of Technology and the 2005 team at Brevard Community College (Re-named to Eastern Florida State College).  In addition, she recently completed six years of service with the Cape Coast Volleyball Club, working as a head coach, league coordinator/director, camp director, instructor, clinician, and tournament director.  She is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).  USAV CAP I and II certified, she has participated in numerous coaching clinics over the years to include: Converse Coaching Clinics; the Terry Liskeyvich (former Olympic Coach) Coaching Clinic; AVCA Coaching Clinics; Gold Medal Clinics; and IMPACT.  In 2009, she attended the first USAV Beach Volleyball Coaches Clinic in Siesta Key, Florida, and completed her USAV Beach CAP certification by attending the inaugural BCAP course that was held at the AVCA Convention in December.  She is also BIMPACT certified for beach instruction.  In addition to her USAV coaching certifications, she has also completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Positive Coaching Alliance certification with the AAU.

An experienced multi-sport athlete she has a passion for volleyball.  She competed in and won many outdoor volleyball
events in women's and co-ed divisions at the AA, AAA/Open levels in the 80's and 90's and was highly regarded as one of the best female players in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area.  As an indoor player during that same time period, she competed on USAV tournament teams who consistently finished at the top of their division, were Regional Point Champions, and/or also qualified for USAV Nationals.  In addition to her volleyball background, she also participated on the Women's Varsity Lacrosse team at Old Dominion University; coached girls lacrosse at the high school level locally, and is a US Lacrosse Certified Coach.
